Letters of credit (LCs) are widely used in commercial transactions, including in international trade and to support obligations under leases, contracts, and permits. This program will provide practitioners with everything that they need to know about LCs. Panelists will discuss what they are, how they are used, and the differences between trade and standby LCs, as well as the supporting legal regimes, underlying documentation, and reoccurring issues from the perspective of issuers, applicants, and beneficiaries.
